Improving
Posted 40 minutes ago 6/30
Allyssa has made some improvement over the last few days. Her hand is still draining fluid and the swelling is down. Her feet started swelling like her hand but this started subsiding on Saturday. Her right foot still has some blue toes. She started making some urine on Saturday but Sunday her kidneys and liver started back working and she started producing a lot of fluid which was a good thing. They took her off of the dialysis machine around 2:00 pm Sunday. She was scheduled to go into surgery to close the sternum at 11:00 am today. The OR ran way behind and at 6:00 pm they called it off and have rescheduled the closure operation for tomorrow. She is waking up now from time to time and trying to find out what happened to her. She still doesn't know what has happened to her, so mom and dad will have some explaining to do tomorrow when she gets out of the sedation. Hopefully the next procedure goes well and Allyssa will be on track for a good recovery.
Thank ya'll for all your prayers for Alyssa Smith. She is in cardiac ICU at St. Lukes and she is still in critical condition, but improving, which is a huge leap from yesterday. Please continue to lift her up in prayer and ask God to somehow show her and her family that He is with them and that he will not leave them.
below is the latest update from her mom posted about an hour ago.

Post Surgery Update
6/26
Allyssa's procedure on her hand went extremely well yesterday. It went so well that they decided not to remove the defibrillator. She really looked much better after the surgery. A pre-operation photo of the hand is in the gallery.
She is stable this morning and will be hopefully closed up on Monday.
They are currently concerned about the performance of the right ventricle at this time.
Thanks to all of your prayers she finally won one of the battles yesterday. The doctors feel she is really strong and will battle back.
Her other vitals such as blood and breathing are good.
