Allyssa passed out for an unknown reason today while going from her bed to the restroom. She is never in danger of falling because she is always escorted by someone. No news on the blood clot issue yet but the doctor is on the way to the room for a visit. There will be a blood drive for Allyssa at RiverPointe Church on Sunday, July 26 from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm. The church is located at 5000 Ransom Rd., Richmond, TX. The St Lukes bloodmobile will be there to handle the donations. Everyone is welcome to come by and donate and attend church service if you wish. It is preferred that you contact the coordinators, Jack English, 832 854-4069, or Jimmy Myska, 281 341-5454, to schedule a time slot for donating. This will help them determine how many bloodmobiles to bring so there will not be any long waits. If you cannot schedule in advance, please just show up when you can during the 8 til 1 time frame.
A little uncertainty
Posted 2 days ago
Allyssa's fever that she had the last couple of days went away last night. She still has been retaining some fluid and an ecocardiogram was done yesterday. It revealed some abnormality on the aortic valve. A trans-esophogeal eco was done today at 3:00 pm. It revealed a blood clot in the heart. The right ventrical was working ok. The doctors have not reported back to the family regarding the seriousness of the blood clot and the plan forward.
Getting stronger
Posted Jul 19, 2009 6:13pm
Allyssa has been steadily improving since her hand surgery. She still has a moderate amount of pain from the hand surgery. She is eating more and more each day. Today she ate chinese food for supper. She gets friends and family to bring in special meals for her. She is not very fond of the hospital food after this many days eating here. Today Allyssa walked 6 laps aroung the 12th floor. This is a great accomplishment. The 6 lap walk is a minimum walk requirement for getting out of the hospital. She still has not received any word on any timetable for getting out of the hospital. The hand surgeon will re-look at her hand on Tuesday. It is still bandaged up from the surgery on last Tuesday. Hopefully she will continue on this good rate of improvement.
